Phnom Penh's gigs cluster around the riverside, Bassac Lane and the Russian Market. Here is where to eat before the band starts and where to keep the night going after, area by area.
Phnom Penh's gigs cluster in three parts of town: the riverside around Post Office Square, the streets off Bassac Lane, and Toul Tom Poung near the Russian Market. This guide covers where to eat before a show and where to keep going after it, area by area. The venue notes and picks are first-hand. Nights and line-ups change, so check LengPleng's weekly wrap for what's on, and our guide to Phnom Penh's live music venues for more on the venues themselves.

- Namaste India. A popular Indian restaurant near the entrance to Bassac Lane, with a classic dining room in light beige and royal blue. Curries come with all the expected accompaniments.
- Back Street Bar. A large villa with drinks served from the bar inside, and plenty of spots to drink and party in the garden outside, and even up on the roof.

- Tape Deck. An offshoot of The Deck that works as its gig space, with jazz on Thursdays and other gigs across the weekend.
- Distortion Dive Bar. It's all black, it's loud, and it's a little too clean to be a dive bar. The place for metal, punk and harder styles, though not exclusively.
- Noisy Chili. Craft beer from Riel Brewing in a garden setting, with an upstairs room for the louder bands. Live music at weekends.
